We’re so damn hard on ourselves, but enough of that! In a world that’s always trying to tell us how to change and who to be, it’s time to push back and own who we are. It’s time to celebrate the little things and take pride in how far we’ve come.
Here are six signs you’re honestly doing better than you think you are:

1. You’ve been to the gym more this year.
Let’s be real about exercise for a moment. If you’re human, that means you’ve probably skipped a workout or two. (Everyone has!) But the key is that you came back. And you pushed yourself. And regardless of your reasoning for disappearing during different phases of your life, you’re here right now working your butt off.
That’s something to be proud of.
2. You have a support group of people you can rely on.
You don’t have to have a million friends to be happy. You don’t even have to have the best-friend-you-can-do-everything-with. In fact, all you need is a few people (family or friends) that, when push comes to shove, will be there.
And if you have that, you’re truly blessed.
3. You have money in the bank (even if it’s less than you’d like).
Guess what? Everyone has money issues. Everyone has moments where they splurge and spend too much on frivolous things. And everyone has regrets after a night on the town. 🍷🙈😅 If you have money in the bank, clothes on your back, and maybe even a roof over your head—you’re thriving.
4. You have moments of happiness.
No one has a ‘perfect’ life and the sooner you accept this, the happier you’ll be. Stop chasing this idea of ‘pure bliss’ because it’s not actually possible. Instead, focus on the things and people that you love and the work/passions that you enjoy.
When you choose to focus on those good things, you’ll see how plentiful they actually are.
5. You have some enemies.
Everyone isn’t going to love you. In fact, if you’re staying true to yourself and what you believe, you’re bound to make enemies along the way. Not everyone feels the same things or acts upon their feelings in the same way. Although it’s always a good thing to avoid conflict and confrontation, understand that you won’t be loved (or even liked) by everyone. But as long as you’re being empathetic and respectful, you’re doing the right thing.
6. You have some unreached goals.
If you have unreached goals, awesome. That means you’re continually moving forward. When you have no goals or ambitions, you’re stuck in place and that’s never good. If there are things you’re still looking to accomplish or dreams you’re still chasing—celebrate! It’s a sure sign you’re doing better than you think.
