Hit the courtyard at The Headquarters at Seaport for this Friday night salsa dancing session under the stars. Manny Cepeda and his orchestra will provide the toe-tapping tunes; no partner or experience necessary to join this fun, free event.
Oceanside Sunset Market
5 to 9 p.m., Main Street Oceanside
As if anyone needed another excuse to head to the beach for an evening sunset over the Pacific Ocean, the Main Street Oceanside business association is giving you one anyway. The Oceanside Sunset Market is taking over four city blocks of the downtown area so that about 200 local merchants can feature homemade crafts and tasty grub as live music wafts through the sea breeze-driven air. The free market is located on Pier View Way between Pacific Coast Highway and the Ocean every Thursday.Â

Mission Federal ArtWalk
11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday), Little Italy
A celebration of artists and their work is taking over 17 blocks of the Little Italy neighborhood for the 34th Annual Mission Federal ArtWalk. Interactive art pieces, live entertainment and pieces by more than 350 artists from across the globe will be on display for the free two-day festival. Guests can expect the delectable delights of Little Italy to be featured at food vendors scattered throughout the event.Â
Tango by the Beach
5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Pacific Street Linear Park
Break out your dancing shoes as the sun sets on Oceanside. Tango by the Beach brings a rollout mat right up to the park (112 The Strand South) situated just steps from the shoreline so guests can learn the art of the romantic dance. An introductory lesson is held at 5 p.m.
Awesome 80s Run
6:30 a.m., De Anza Cove
Get ready for side ponytails and lots of neon. A totally awesome event is bringing the 80s back! Proceeds from this 5 or 8K race will go to the Free Hugs Project to promote peace and unity and Honor Flight San Diego, which transports veterans to Washington DC to visit memorials dedicated to the wars they fought in. Entry to the race costs $43 ahead of time or $45 day of. Participants will be awarded a working Rubik’s cube medal at the end of the course. For those that are on that post-race high, keep the party going at Tin Roof in the Gaslamp. Classic 80s jams will be blasting from the speakers as racers enjoy refreshing after-race drinks and brunch.
